Wilson cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce, which was submitted on 16 September.
The court filings say the two separated in 2008.
Wilson and Crowe were married in 1986 and has two children from 10 years of edad.Wilson looking for joint custody.
Crowe is best known for directing films such as "Jerry Maguire" and "Say Anything". won an Oscar for the screenplay for the film "Almost Famous."
